Learn the basics of handbuilding with air-dry clay and take home your own cheerful spring bird and nest. Air dry clay is a versatile and affordable clay option, which will allow us to explore pinch pots, coil building, natural textures, slump molds, and more! You'll leave with a clay creation that will need to dry for several days before you can apply the surface treatment of your own choosing at home. We will share examples and recommendations for paints, washes, and other finishing options that you can explore on your own.
Feel free to bring your own natural inspirations, such as twigs, feathers, nests, or leaves!

Needle Felted Bluebird Workshop

Learn needle felting basics with Libby Mortensen while making your own sweet little sitting bluebird to display for spring (about 4.5” long, without legs/feet). Wool sculpting techniques will include wrapping and shaping, blending colors and surface felting.
Learn about basic tools, felting surfaces, gauges of needles and their best uses, and types of wool best suited for needle felting!
