Family, Memory, Place: Writing Family Stories by presenter: Maura MacNeil.
What family stories do you carry with you? What story do you tell over and over? What landscape do you cherish the most? One of the deepest human instincts is to tell our life stories, to figure out who we are and what it means to be human. This interactive workshop led by Maura MacNeil explores how the landscapes of our lives shape the stories that we tell. Participants explore the themes of family, memory, and place through sample narratives and a series of short writing exercises, gaining a deeper awareness of how their stories can preserve personal, generational, and communal history.

Art Reception
The Belknap Mill is proud to host the 2023 Magnify Voices Expressive Arts Contest traveling exhibit for the month of March. The exhibit demonstrates how the arts, which are a vital tool for education and communication, can also be significant in healing. Please join us for a reception on Friday, March 8th, from 5-7pm. Lakes Region Mental Health will be passing out information about local resources in our community.
The NH Children’s System of Care (CSoC) started the Magnify Voices Expressive Art Contest in 2019 during Mental Health Awareness Month in May to highlight the inadequacies in the system that serves youth and families. CSoC was formed to improve the lives and behavioral health outcomes of children, youth and their families in New Hampshire. It is a coordinated and collaborative effort involving multiple entities across the state with leadership from the NH Department of Health and Human Services and the NH Department of Education, CSoC is comprised of over 50 organizations who work collaboratively to support children in the Granite State with mental health challenges. For more information visit www.NHCSoC.org
