James Cryan Opening Gallery Reception
We’re excited to welcome James Cryan to the Mill as he showcases his work in our Riverside Gallery! Join us for his opening gallery reception on Friday, April 3rd from 5:30–7 PM during First Friday! This retrospective celebrates the life and work of James Cryan — a photographer whose images reflect curiosity, reflection, and a lifelong engagement with the landscapes and people of the world. In many ways, Cryan is a modern Renaissance man. Educated in English Literature, he has always been drawn to stories — whether told through words, memory, or images. Photography became the medium through which he learned to translate experience into visual narrative. “A Lifetime Behind the Lens” invites viewers to slow down and see as Cryan does — with attentiveness, humility, and wonder. Through landscapes, light, and moments of place, his photographs remind us that the act of looking closely can be both an artistic pursuit and a way of understanding the world.
