FACES OF LACONIA Exhibit by Alan MacRae
The Exhibit includes portraits of community members who have made significant contributions to Laconia and the surrounding area. The exhibit will run through the end of June.
Alan MacRae, in partnership with Brenda Kean, the former executive director of the Laconia Historical and Museum Society, identified and interviewed individuals who had positively impacted the city through their unique endeavors. The majority of these interviews were conducted by MacRae, capturing photographs in the subject’s homes or workplaces for a more authentic portrayal.
Kathi Hopper, a dedicated volunteer at the Belknap Mill, transcribed numerous interviews. These transcriptions aim to offer visitors a deeper insight into the background and personal narratives of each featured individual within the exhibition, allowing them to connect with the subjects in their own words.
